Cult of Khaine Warhammer Army Blog

This blog is dedicated to my Dark Elf Warhammer army - The Cult of Khaine.

I have been collecting and painting models for the past couple of years in particular the games workshop warhammer dark elves. These are my favourite minatures out of their range and over the time I have amassed a rather large army. I thought it would be a good idea to blog my development of the army as It evolves to keep a record of my ideas and to showcase the models when I finish them. I will be posting various images, comments and links as I go and would love to hear any comments you have.

Dark Elf Battle Standard Bearer BSB

Well here are a few pics of something I have been working on for the past week or so. This will be my entry for this years Gold Demon Single Minature my Dark Elf BSB conversion. I am still undecided if it is completely finished yet - was considering painting a rune top left corner of the banner and perhaps something on the lower leg section of the model. Anyway enjoy ;-)

My Dilemma - To Paint or Not to Paint That is the ?

I just won this amazing model on ebay MALEKITH ON FOOT and I am now at a cross roads as to what to do with it. Do I paint it or keep it in mint condition as a collectors item. According to Citadel Miniatures this mini is unreleased and rather hard to come by - see here

Part of me just says what the heck - enjoy the experience and slap some paint on it. Any comments would be most welcome.

Morathi on foot - Minor Conversion.

Getting myself sorted now - have had this conversion sitting around for a while and decided it was time to put some paint on it. Presenting Morathi on foot! This is a minor conversion I did with Morathi's torso and the leg section from the Crocodile Games Ice Witch. They fitted quite well together - used a bit of green stuff in the middle to get them to meld together. I hope you like!

Dreadlord on a Dark Steed

Here is a new one for the blog, a Dreadlord on a Dark Steed. Available only by direct order from GW. Not a bad mini - I enjoyed painting this one. I had a few difficulties with the horse - I used this a bit of a test in the lead up to painting my Dark Riders. It's quite difficult to paint black horses and still incorporate some elements of shading - in the end I painted it all grey then did a few washes with Badab Black. Seems to have come out ok - bit hard to photograph. I hope you like :-)

Getting my act together

Well this blog has taken a back seat for the past few months. Life has been keeping me busy in other places - unfortunately not on my Dark Elves army.

There has been a few developments - I have been modeling up 2 units of 5 dark riders all female. Should have some WIP images up soon of these and a big AND - I was lucky enough to win on ebay last week a Malekith on foot the unreleased version. As soon as I get it in my hot little hand I will post some images and the lenghthy process I plan to paint it :-)
